HEALTH GUARANTEE

LITTLE DARLINGS takes great pride in our close-banded, socialized, hand fed exotic parrots.

LITTLE DARLINGS guarantees at the time of sale, that the bird(s) are in excellent health and disease free to the best of our knowledge.

A 10 day health guarantee comes with each chick for PBFD, PSITTACOSIS, POLYOMA, and PACHECOS, non-treatable pre-existing conditions that perniciously (destroy utterly) affects the health and well-being of the bird(s) or genetic deformities (excluding PDD). This is provided that the chick is tested by an QUALIFIED AVIAN VETERINARIAN and must be proven to have existed prior to purchase (purchased date) of the above to verify health of the bird(s). Valid documentation must be provided for verification from the QUALIFIED AVIAN VETERINARIAN!

Please make the vet appointment before coming to pick up your bird, so that the health guarantee will cover the time period allotted.

This guarantee is only VALID if the bird(s) are not kept in the same air space as other birds in your home, as a lot of diseases are airborne. For this reason, we are happy to keep the bird(s) at our facility for one week past delivery date until DNA disease testing results are determined. The DNA disease testing will be done at your expense. Or, if you can provide valid documentation from an QUALIFIED AVIAN VETERINARIAN OR LABORATORY stating that your existing bird(s) have been tested negative for the above diseases.

Then upon verification of the above condition to LITTLE DARLINGS, YOU agree, at our discretion, that LITTLE DARLINGS will either refund the entire purchase price to YOU, or replace with another bird(s) of the same species, sex (if known at time of sale) of similar age. All costs of return or delivery expenses (AIRLINE SHIPPING) to be borne by LITTLE DARLINGS.

In the event that you fail to have the bird(s) examined by a QUALIFIED AVIAN VETERINARIAN within the 10 day period and provide valid documentation from a QUALIFIED AVIAN VETERINARIAN OR LABORATORY stating that your existing bird(s) have been tested negative for the above diseases, then the health and fitness guarantee stated above, is null and void.

In the event that the bird(s) die in the 10 day guarantee period. YOU must immediately refrigerate (not freeze) the body or bodies in a zip lock bag and get the bird(s) to a QUALIFIED AVIAN VETERINARIAN or LABORATORY for a necropsy (within 24 hours, if possible) to determine the cause of death.

Refund or replacement, if any, will be based on the cause of death (PBFD, PSITTACOSIS, POLYOMA, PACHEOS, NON-TREATABLE PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS THAT PERNICIOUSLY AFFECTS THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THE BIRD(S) AND GENETIC DEFORMITIES (excluding PDD). LITTLE DARLINGS does reserve the right to get a second opinion at our expense.

No refund or replacement on inconclusive findings, only on the above conditions. No refunds or replacement due to abuse, injury, improper care, malnutrition, mistreatment or neglect while in the owners care.

You MUST submit the leg band back to LITTLE DARLINGS and a written necropsy and histopathology report sent by QUALIFIED AVIAN VETERINARIAN or LABORATORY or there will be no refund or replacement.

In no case can LITTLE DARLINGS be held responsible for the cost of examination, testing, necropsy, histopathology, clinical pathology, microbiology, parasitology or toxicology. Necropsy and histopathology will only be covered, if death is caused by any of the conditions stated above.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF PAYMENT

We take reservations with a non - refundable deposit ( in the event that you do not complete the sales transaction ) on available chicks.

We accept CASH; MONEY ORDER; DIRECT DEPOSIT in our bank account or online banking [EMAIL MONEY TRANSFER].

All bird(s) must be fully paid for, before leaving the premises of LITTLE DARLINGS. If your bird is being shipped to you, then the balance is required a few days ahead of shipping. Flight arrangements are made for your little darling(s) as soon as the balance arrives. Ontario residents must pay the applicable provincial sales tax of 8% on the price of the hand fed bird.

Tax free to out of province residents.

We also have a waiting list. No deposit required. A waiting list is for bird(s) we do not have yet. If you find a bird somewhere else. Please take a moment and email or phone me, so that I may take you off the waiting list. Thank you.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

We ship throughout Canada by Air Canada, depending on weather conditions to all major airports. Crate is included in the price. You pay the shipping expenses, by C.O.D. Air Canada rates are based on size of crate and destination anywheres from approximately $ 60.00 to $ 140.00 plus.

We use a clear or semi-clear heavy duty plastic container from Rubbermaid or Sterlite for the bird(s) that fits the appropriate size of the bird. Airholes are placed around all sides of the container. We then hot glue in 2 small plastic fruit cup/applesauce containers for the water and food at one end in the corners. Pine shavings are placed on the bottom.

We also ship by Westjet, depending on weather conditions to all major airports. It is $ 110.00 which includes the crate ( pet carrier ), shipping expenses, etc.

We also supply Living World Tropican High Performance or Lifetime Granules contained in a plastic bag which is then anchored to the lid.

All paperwork ( hatch certificate, health guarantee, sexing certificate if applicable, care pamphlet, behavior information packet, species information sheet if available, paid in full invoice and a business card ) will also be sent.
